Discover the French language. Develop practical written and conversation skills for work or personal enjoyment. This program offers exposure to the French language for individuals who are:
a) working in a bilingual milieu b) seeking a career involving the French language c) wish to develop their conversation skills
You will develop practical skills through in class discussions, group work, language lab exercises and grammar theory. Some courses in this program also offered through Distance Education.
If you think that you are eligible for placement into a higher level, you should register for the appropriate challenge exam. You may challenge up to 75% of the required credits. For beginners, no placement test is required; register directly in La Pratique du Francais 1.
You must meet the prerequisites.

Written test (LANGFR003, FR004, FR005, FR006) - These tests measure competence in grammar. You may obtain up to 4 credits with these tests.
Oral test (LANGFS032, FS033) - These measure competence in conversational skills. You may obtain up to 2 credits with these tests.
For further information about the tests, contact the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Office at 905-575-2395/519-759- 7200 ext 2395 to register. A minimum of one week notice is required.
