This 24-hour course is intended for individuals who have some experience in arrhythmia interpretation. The course will review the basic principles of electrocardiology, E.C.G. recording and cardiac axis determination.

Focus on basic principles and skills of footcare in nursing practice. Students will enjoy the new blend of independent lerarning and skills workshop therefore are required to purchase and complete the independent learning module at least four weeks prior to the skills workshop. Building on the principles and practices of the Basic Footcare course you will focus on the assessment and care of high risk feet. Pathological conditions will be discussed including vascular ulcers, the diabetic foot, and onychauxic nails. Nursing skills will include padding, strapping, nail packing and reduction of the onychauxic nail. Infection control will be an important thread throughout.

Prepare for the birth of your baby with confidence. The goal of our comprehensive prenatal program is to give you a positive outlook on the birth experience and a new awareness of the choices available to you. Topics include signs and stages of labour, the birth process, breathing and comfort techniques, epidural and pain medication options, medical interventions, cesarean birth, postpartum experience, the newborn, and breastfeeding.

RNs will be introduced to the role of the circulating nurse during Cesarean Sections. Topics include: obstetrical anaesthetic techniques, complications and related nursing interventions, intraoperative nursing responsibilities related to the use of electrocautery, infection control measures, patient positioning and prepping, surgical counts and documentation. Postoperative nursing care of the patient will also be discussed.

This course will help you draw upon your knowledge, experience, and skills and examine the concept of competency based learning and assessment. Upon completing this course, participants will be able to select a competency and develop a learning blueprint, or plan that can be applied to multiple environments. This 30-hour course will focus on some of the main topics in chemistry - Liver and Kidney function, Acid-Base balance, Toxicology, Statistics and Quality Control. It will provide participants an opportunity to refresh their knowledge in these areas or help to prepare for core lab settings.
This course will give an introduction to nucleic acid-based molecular techniques that are currently used in clinical laboratories. Students will be introduced to the basic science.
