Applying for an Exemption in 5 easy steps
- Exemption from a Mohawk College course will be granted by the Associate Dean if a student can show successful completion of work of the same level and scope as defined by the course's learning outcomes. Normally, these will be courses from another postsecondary institution.
- Exemptions are not required for Mohawk course equivalencies. (For further information on equivalencies, students should contact their program coordinator.)
- It is advisable to apply for exemptions early to allow sufficient time for academic approvals before registration begins.
- Receiving exemptions/transfer credits may impact a student’s course load and affect their full-time program status and eligibility for OSAP, sponsorship or scholarships and awards.
Students should attend classes for the course until exemption approval is posted.
