- Understand the use of large reciprocating engines fueled by natural gas and emergency generators driven by diesel engines
- Prepare for the Technical Standards and Safety Authority 4th Class Operating Engineering, Gas and Oil Burner Technician III examinations
- Option of continuing in 2nd semester as a Power Engineer or Utilities student if enrolled into September program
- Graduates of the program will be required to obtain additional steam time experience beyond that of the 12-week work term. The professor will provide a verbal explanation at the time of the instruction
