  • Employ the most advanced joinery and fastening systems, conventional and computer-controlled machinery and machining techniques
  • Design, create, construct and install cabinets, furniture and millwork through the selection and application of materials and techniques
  • Develop both custom woodworking skills and modern, advanced production techniques in the manufacturing of cabinetry, furniture and millwork
  • Apply advanced techniques for furniture repair, restoration and finishing
  • Develop blueprint reading, CAD design, layout, assembly and finishing skills
  • Acquire skills-based training and practical skills in operating a small business

Field Placement

  • Experience the working world in a woodworking position during fourth semester, with a two-week field internship facilitated by Mohawk's program coordinator.

  • OSSD or equivalent (GEGED, College and Career Preparation) including:
    • Grade 12 English, general, advanced, C or U
    • Senior Mathematics and Woodworking credits are advised
  • or Mohawk College Pretechnology completion
  • Mature applicants are considered individually
