| Highlights - Develop skills and training required to join the entrepreneurial trend of do-it-yourself (DIY) home and commercial renovation
- Explore design styles, architectural history, interior finishes, cabinetry, millwork and lighting systems
- Acquire
specialized training in carpentry hand and power tools, construction
materials, wood and wood products, interior and exterior finishes, and
workplace safety - Apply
construction and project management principles to renovation projects
including project scheduling, materials resourcing, cost estimating,
risk analysis, sub-contracting, cost control strategies and project
closeout
- Understand the importance of integrated waste
management and incorporate the 3R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle) into
renovation projects
- Experience an intensive hands-on education consisting of various lab and practical projects
- Acquire practical knowledge and skills needed to operate a small business
- Pursue
your professional affiliations including membership in the Ontario
Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists

Admission Requirements - OSSD or equivalent (GEGED, College and Career Preparation) including:
- Grade 12 English, general, advanced, C or U
- Grade
12 Mathematics, general (Technology) or advanced, C (Math for College
Technology is recommended) or U, or Mohawk College Prep Math for
Technology or equivalent
- Senior Physics and Drafting are advised
- or Mohawk College Pretechnology completion
- Mature applicants are considered individually
