Aboriginal Student Services offers a wide range of services and activities for our aboriginal students designed to make to your experience here at the College both interesting and fun. We have planned a number of special events throughout the year and we sincerely hope you take the time to participate. Aboriginal Access & Recruitment Coordinator A Liaison Officer is available to assist students by answering questions or concerns regarding college admissions, program information, career services, scholarships & bursaries. The Coordinator also acts as a liaison with high schools and various Aboriginal organizations, and promotes College programs and services through information sessions, College tours and career fairs.

The Program Manager of Aboriginal Education welcomes constructive input from students pertaining to Aboriginal programming and services. In addition, community organizations are invited to contact the Program Manager of Aboriginal Education regarding any specialized training courses they would like to see developed.

Both organizations provide an opportunity for Aboriginal students to meet and interact with other Aboriginal students. Both organizations are involved in holding fundraisers, socials and luncheons for the students. Also, the organizations are active in campus activities and hold weekly meetings during the academic year. It is an excellent resource for students who may otherwise be struggling with a particular course in their program. Not only does this service provide opportunities for students to receive free peer tutoring, but students can also obtain work experience as a tutor and earn part-time wages.

Elders have been invited to provide leadership in events such as talking circles, as well as provide staff and faculty with an opportunity for more multi-cultural awareness and education.
