Mohawk and Laurier squaring off for Big Brothers and Big Sisters
BRANTFORD - Mohawk Brantford Executive Dean Paul Armstrong will be behind the bench as the Mountaineers look to repeat as champions over the Golden Hawks at the 5th annual Mohawk / Laurier Charity Hockey Game Jan. 17.
Regardless of the final score, the real winner will be Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Brantford and District. Mohawk and Laurier have set a goal of raising $3,000 for the charity. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.
Mohawk and Laurier will ice co-ed teams of students from the college and university campuses in Brantford. "We've assembled a great team of veterans and rookies who skate fast, shoot hard and know how to put the puck in the net," says coach Armstrong, who denies rumours he may take over as bench boss for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The puck drops at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Brantford Civic Centre (69 Market St. South).
