Mohawk has recognized 54 graduates since introducing the Alumni of Distinction Awards in 1996. Last year, awards were presented to Michael Desnoyers, Ward Dilse, Mindy Tweedle Laforet, Mike Farrell and John Lafferty. Mohawk alumni are nominated by the community and award recipients are then chosen by a committee of college staff and graduates. Mohawk award winners are also nominated for annual Ontario Premier's Awards.
