How do I apply for Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)?
We recommend that you apply for OSAP online at http://osap.gov.on.ca. Your online application will be processed in 4-6 weeks. Approximately two weeks after submission, you will receive a Signature and Consent Declaration and, if required, a Request for Supporting Documentation in the mail. These documents must be returned to the Financial Aid Office at Mohawk College. You may also choose to print off your own "web package" once you have submitted your on-line application.You may also apply using a booklet application, which will be available at all high schools, colleges and universities in early June. You may also print off the PDF version from the OSAP website at http://osap.gov.on.ca. This application has an administration fee and takes approximately 6-8 weeks to process. Once you have completed the application, attach a cheque or money order for $10.00 payable to the 'Minister of Finance', include the proper supporting documentation, and forward the package to Mohawk College Financial Aid Office. Please be advised that parental financial information and consent are needed for "dependent" students and any student applying directly out of high school. |
