The three year (six semester) day program of Advertising enjoys industry recognition as a leading Advertising program. Students in our day program have won numerous awards, including recent GOLD wins at the CMA Awards…as one industry insider remarked at a recent gala “if there’s a student advertising competition, we’re sure to see Mohawk students here!”
Additionally, our grads take exciting steps after graduation. Many recently have gone on to pursue university degrees, applying their credits from the Advertising program towards their chosen degrees in universities in Ontario as well as Australia, where we have international articulation agreements. The majority of students pursue related careers, and find themselves in Advertising and Advertising Media agencies such as Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, OMD, MindShare, MacLaren McCann, Bensimon Byrne, and many others too numerous to mention here. Others find careers in related Media Suppliers such as CHUM, The Wave, The Fight Network, CBC, national and community newspapers, and other Canadian media outlets. Client side opportunities recently have included LG Electronics, Carstar, and Outback Restaurants. Placement stats are consistently in the 90%+ (those that go on to University reduce our placement stats!)
Applicants who already have a university degree, college diploma, or significant credits, may wish to consider direct entry to our third semester (year two). To do so, the Advertising Fast Track summer listings in Continuing Education will allow applicants to fulfill required Advertising courses in the summer and, upon successful completion, be admitted in the following Fall session to semester three.
Non-advertising courses, as indicated, are still required. However students with numerous credits or diplomas/degrees will likely find that they can achieve exemptions upon application to the full time day program. A Student Success Advisor will assist in this.
Spaces in our Advertising Fast Track are limited to 25. Early application (online or in-person) is strongly suggested.

Some of the courses in Fast Track are offered in the Spring/Summer, while some will be picked up once you have enrolled in the day program. Prior Learning Assessments (PLA) are usually available for those that may wish to challenge out of a course due to past credits or training. Applicants to the Advertising Fast Track are encouraged to set up an appointment with the Advertising Program Coordinator to map out a Learning Plan.
