Council on Institutional Effectiveness and Satisfaction
Terms of Reference

Purpose

The Council on Institutional Effectiveness and Satisfaction has been established in order to help Mohawk College implement and oversee a comprehensive review of operational and business practices and processes. The results and recommendations from this review will support and promote effective use of resources in a number of key areas and will establish a culture of ongoing review and revision of business practices in order to support and enhance student success and retention, maximize resources and improve staff satisfaction.


Duration of the Council

The Council on Institutional Effectiveness and Satisfaction will be in place for a minimum duration of 12 months, (September, 2008).


Mandate of the Council

Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) - Enhancing KPI Results (Student, Graduate and Employer)

Employee Satisfaction
      Identify value added work, eliminate redundancy (waste)
      Improve Communication

Organizational Realignment
      Realignment of work
      Recommend appropriate staffing levels
      Streamline work processes

The Council on Institutional Effectiveness and Satisfaction is an advisory group to the President and the Institutional Effectiveness work team.


Goals of the Council

  1. Promote a culture of on-going critical review of college business practices and processes to ensure resources are available to support value-added activities for students and staff at Mohawk College and to eliminate processes, which are considered redundant or wasteful.

  2. Establish the business processes to be reviewed.

  3. Promote discussion and collaboration between all stakeholder groups. Engage the institution through frequent communication.

  4. Support implementation plans for the realignment of work and development of best practices.

  5. Promote a continuous improvement environment by developing on-going in house expertise.
