Mohawk College offers over $3 million in student financial assistance - not including the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Whether you have just graduated from secondary school, are continuing your education from another college or university, or are returning to college after working or raising a family, Mohawk can help you finance your education and make it more affordable.

What's the difference between scholarships and bursaries?

  • Bursaries are primarily based on financial need, however other criteria may also apply.
  • Scholarships are designed to recognize academic achievement. Other criteria may also apply. The sources of funding are usually individuals, corporations, and organizations.

All Scholarships and Bursaries are taxable. Recipients will receive a T4A for income tax purposes.



Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund (OSOTF)

Each year, OSOTF provides scholarships to approximately 300 entrance and in-course tuition scholarships averaging $1,000. OSOTF is available to students who are Ontario residents, taking at least 60% of a full course load in a ministry-approved program, and not sponsored by an employer or agency. Applicants must also have a minimum 80% average and demonstrate financial need.
