Practical Nursing with Aboriginal Communities
Prepare for your career as a uniquely qualified Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to meet health care needs in Aboriginal Communities. Experience clinical placements provided in the health care agencies of Hamilton, Brantford, Six Nations, Halton, Niagara, and the surrounding regions.

Discover collaborative learning, where students are responsible for their own learning and for contributing to the learning of their peers. As an Ontario College Diploma graduate, gain eligibility to write the registration examinations for Practical Nurses conducted by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Start date November 2008
- 2 year diploma program, 2 semesters each year
- Designed in partnership with Six Nations of the Grand River
- Program of studies is identical to Mohawk's Practical Nursing program
- Specialized curriculum for Aboriginal Communities that reflects the unique nature of the program
- Courses delivered at Six Nations Polytechnic and at the Mohawk-McMaster Institute for Applied Heath Sciences (IAHS)
- Preparation of a uniquely qualified RPN to meet health care needs in Aboriginal Communities
- Opportunity to proceed to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and become a Registered Nurse
